About Elizabeth

My personal health journey is one of battling symptoms stemming from hormone imbalances (PCOS-Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome), gut dysfunction, Epstein Barr Virus and Adrenal Fatigue. I spent years feeling misunderstood by my doctors, being told “everything looks normal” and was fed up with the medical model of taking medications that weren’t making me any better. I struggled with mood swings, anxiety, bloating, insomnia, hair loss and weight fluctuations. Every month it was as if my PMS was on steroids, I had irregular periods, awful breast tenderness, and my cramps would sometimes leave me on the couch with a heating pad in fetal position. I always felt shaky in between my meals, I think the word “hangry” was made for me. I couldn’t understand why this was happening to me and no one else I knew. I was living in fight-or-flight and felt very overwhelmed, burnt out, and hopeless. I was exercising a lot and following a “healthy” diet, so why wasn’t I feeling healthy?

Facing these health obstacles forced me to advocate for myself, opened me up to the world of Functional Medicine, and motivated me to continue my education to learn more about what was happening in my body. Ultimately I had to take my health and healing into my own hands, which is where my passion for nutrition and mindfulness was born.

Over time I learned the importance of supporting my body and mind through proper nutrition, movement and mindfulness-based stress-management practices. This enabled me to restore balance in my body. My hormones and nervous system needed to feel safe; which meant I needed to eat enough and of the right foods, address nutritional imbalances, restore my gut microbiome, move my body in ways that aligned with my cycle, learn how to process my emotions in healthy ways, take time to pause and slow down, and really listen to and honor my body when I needed to rest and set healthy boundaries. This transformation ignited my passion to help support others who feel stuck, misunderstood, frustrated and are looking to thrive again.

While it hasn’t always been a beautiful ride, it has been a humbling one. I share this with you because I want you to understand that I really get it. When I look back at my darkest days I see someone confused, miserable, and so lost. Today I see someone with radiating light, countless lessons learned and a whole lot of experience, wisdom, and knowledge to share.

About the Business

After having worked as a Health Coach in Corporate Wellness for five years, I was amazed at how much of a difference it made for my clients to help define their goals and ultimately unlearn and then relearn how to support their wellness. I came to understand the importance of approaching wellness through a holistic lens because having a healthy body means having a healthy mind. That enables one to have the awareness to live intentionally, to be resilient, and, ultimately, to feel grounded, happy, energized and strong. I also recognize how maintaining health is an on going practice because we continuously change, evolve, and age which is why it is so important to understand yourself. When you leave our sessions you will feel genuinely supported, equipped for success, and that you are on your way to meeting your goals. You will learn about how when given the right support and nutrients, you are able to find balance and thrive. Being part of your wellness team is such a privilege. This work is my purpose in life.
